Alessandro holds a BS and MS in Computer Science from Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He spent 10 years at AT&T, where he co-founded AT&T Ventures, where he focused on early-stage new media investments. He also co-founded Pixel Machines, a startup in the graphics supercomputing industry. He also co-founded Vedanta Capital and was General Partner of Invesco Private Capital, where he led the technology practice, investing directly in companies and funds. Today he is Managing Partner of AlphaPrime, a venture capital firm focused on technologies that protect people and assets. He is Chairman of the Board of Visitors of the Fu Foundation School of Engineering at Columbia University, where he also serves on the Entrepreneurial Advisory Board; he is a member of the Board of Directors of the New York chapter of TiE, a global organisation that promotes entrepreneurship; and he is a member of the Board of Directors of several private companies. Alessandro is also co-founder of the Action Institute, an independent think tank for actionable policy solutions in Italy, and is involved in philanthropic activities in the fields of health and education.
